Historical Stone Calatrava Cross

Description

The Calatrava Cross is a symbol used by the Order of Calatrava and the Order of Montesa (this one in black color), as well as the Order of Preachers. It consists of a Greek cross with four equal arms, gules and fleur of lys.

This cross appears in numerous shields and flags of cities of Calatrava.
The Calatrava Cross was black until the fifteenth century when it became represented in red.
