Introducing the\u00a0Signature \u00a0Series by Windlass<\/strong>! Some of our all-time favorites,\u00a0reissued by Windlass Steelcrafts\u00ae\u00a0with several upgrades<\/strong>! The blade has improved distal taper, making the sword livelier and quicker. The scabbard now has a wooden core underneath the leather exterior.\u00a0The grip features leather that is dimpled using a historically authentic “wet-wrap<\/strong>” process, during which fine cord is tightly wrapped around a wet leather grip. When it’s dry, the cord is removed and the leather is left attractively indented and provides improved texture and grip.<\/p>\n

This sword rests in the\u00a0German Schloss Erbach Armoury<\/strong>\u00a0and is a fine example of a high medieval\/renaissance sword (classified as an Oakeshott type XVIII A<\/em><\/strong>). This is truly a beautiful example of a bastard sword, effective in the cut and the thrust. The steel parts are highly decorative and the high\u00a0carbon<\/strong>\u00a0steel<\/strong>\u00a0blade<\/strong>\u00a0is lightly hollow ground, giving the sword a great feel with one or two hands. The leather\u00a0grip<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0scabbard<\/strong>\u00a0are brownish black.<\/p>\n
