Das bemerkenswert gut erhaltene Fundst\u00fcck aus Eisen, Gold und Silber ist heutzutage im\u00a0<strong>Kulturhistorischen Museum (Kulturhistorik Museum) in Oslo<\/strong>\u00a0zu bewundern.<\/p>\n<p>Diese originalgetreue Nachbildung ist ein kampfbereites Schwert mit einer Klinge aus Kohlenstoffstahl, die wie das Original k\u00e4mpfen kann.<\/p>\n<p>Der Knauf und die absteigende Parierstange sind mit Gold und Kupfer verziert und zeigen eine Mischung aus lateinischen Schriftzeichen, christlichen und Runensymbolen, deren genaue Bedeutung im Laufe der Zeit verloren gegangen ist, wobei einige Schriftzeichen scheinbar umgedreht sind, um f\u00fcr Symmetrie zu sorgen.<\/p>\n<p>Aufgrund der Kombination aus Spiralen, Runen, lateinische Buchstaben und Kreuzen, die den Handschutz sowie den Knauf \u00fcppig verzieren, ist das auf ca. 1030 datierte Original ein wahres Unikat. Obwohl ihre genaue Bedeutung immer noch r\u00e4tselhaft ist, tragen einige dieser Motive eindeutig eine christliche Botschaft und lassen vermuten, dass diese nordische Waffe bewusst mit christlicher Symbolik versehen wurde. Die Datierung des Schwertes (fr\u00fches 11. Jh., das das Ende des nordischen Heidentums und den Beginn des christlichen Mittelalters in Skandinavien markiert) bekr\u00e4ftigt diese Annahme.<\/p>\n<p>Da die Originalscheide mit der Zeit an Wert verloren hatte, entwarfen wir eine hochwertige Lederscheide und gravierten per Laser ein Muster, das aus Bildern des Originalknaufs erstellt wurde.
